Grant Research Volunteer
Would you like to help a local, non-profit, charitable organization that helps voiceless, under-resourced youth and children in Uganda from the convenience of your own home? Then, consider becoming a Grant Research Volunteer for Beacon of Hope Uganda!
• Researches emerging grant possibilities with corporations and foundations via the internet. The volunteer will make general inquiries from their home to acquire the needed information, e.g., name of organization, what is their funding focus, what are their grant guidelines, who is the person responsible, what is their phone number and address, etc.
• Volunteer needs to commit to a minimum of Seventy Two hours a month to work on grant research, grant-writing, proposal sending, make grant inquiries via the telephone or e-mail

Funding Development Volunteer

Do you want to play a significant role in the BoHU community by developing contacts so BoHU may continue to provide services to youths and children? If so, you should become a Funding Development Volunteer!
• Develops contacts for BoHU who will provide business and/or introduce corporate sponsors to the program.
• Volunteer needs to be creative, active and approachable

Literacy Volunteer
Want to make a substantial impact in the lives of Uganda’s youth and children? Do you enjoy working one on one with youth and children in a developing country to help them improve their literacy skills? If so, apply to become a literacy volunteer today!
• Work one on one or in a small group setting with trainees on reading, writing, English and mathematic skills.
• Must be available for a minimum of one month in Uganda.

Fundraising
Do you want help, but volunteering isn't your interest? Or would you like to help raise money for our nonprofit? Or simply help others raise funds? Then participate in our fundraising campaign!

Medical Volunteers
Doctors, nurses, medical students and other medical practitioners may take patient histories, shadow doctors, interact with patients, help diagnose, assist in the pharmacy or with lab work, or prep the operating theatre.

Nurses may bathe, feed, or administer medications to patients. Doctors are more than willing to work with volunteers and share details of patients and their diagnoses. Patients seem happy to see volunteers as well.
Please apply to one of the positions above; you will be working within Mukono and Rural Tororo with community health center.

Non-Medical Volunteers
» Help with clerical or administrative work at the hospital
» Spend time with patients
» Participate in community outreach
» Help at the Nursery School / Feeding Program
» Teach children English, math, science, etc.
» Help care for and play with the orphans
» Garden or crop cultivation
» Aid in building construction
» Work with widows groups

Booking fee: USD $50, Airport Pickup: USD $75, Program fee: USD $450 per month

What’s included?

The $450 per month covers the following: Accommodation, 3 meals daily, Laundry services, Water for domestic use (not for drinking), Electricity (for your gadgets) and 1 hour internet services upon arrival, 30 minutes telephone call back home and orientation.
