Africa Sustainable Tourism Care Foundation a registered tourism Non-Governmental Organization – NGO that strives for the conservation of biodiversity and development of rural Uganda communities in high tourism potential areas to supplement household incomes through a diverse and holistic, innovative, sustainable tourism practices as a tool to alleviate poverty, fight gender inequality, to empower local communities and in particular disadvantaged groups (women, children, youth, ethnic people), and to encourage the conservation of cultural and natural heritage.  

We offer a variety of educational and authentic volunteer abroad experiences - wildlife safaris, rural community insights, cultural immersion programs and volunteer projects including education, medical & health, sports development, entrepreneurship, women empowerment, micro finance, NGO administration, environmental conservation, community development and internship opportunities among others. 

Our volunteer programs are designed to connect travelers/volunteers with local people and places for an authentic experience with a focus on sustainable community-based development. Members of the community participate in the project and work together with the volunteers.

Programs begin on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month.  Volunteers choose when they want to volunteer work and for how long. We personalize each program to suit the volunteer’s skills and preferences, regardless if the volunteer is traveling solo, with a family, or in a group on a spring break, gap year or medical mission.
