How You Can Help

International and local organisations operate volunteer placements Switzerland where you can help local communities. Some placements include helping disabled people, adults with special needs and learning difficulties, helping elderly people or working on cultural, admin and creative arts projects. Projects can be really rewarding way to meet local people, sample the local food/culture and actually make a difference. WWOOF is also a popular option where you can live and volunteer at farms in the countryside. You get free board and meals in exchange for helping out.

 

How to Apply

Some organisations offer structured volunteer abroad packages where you will need to pay a fee to join, this usually covers your accommodation, meals, placements, training and in-country support. Sometimes minimum stays of at least 7 days are required and you can apply all year round.
